Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. warned the Chinese government to “never ever point anything at my country unless you’re looking for a fight” following the radar gun incident between a Chinese vessel and a Philippine Navy ship.
Manila filed a diplomatic protest against China over the incident which Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana presumed to be an “offensive” test of Philippines’ reaction while the Chinese vessel aimed ready for firing.
In response to Lorenzana’s statements, Locsin said, “Well we passed the test; I slapped them back. Don’t even dream of pointing anything at my country.”
“This is the last word on the subject that I already warned everybody is strictly my exclusive competence and jurisdiction under the President and nobody else in the government,” he added.
The Philippines has two diplomatic protests lodged against China: the move to include some parts of the West Philippine Sea as part of Hainan province with China’s inclusion of two administrative districts, and the recent radar gun incident filed by Locsin.
