Boronganon wins gold in Nat’l Watercolor Tilt

Raymundo “Tonton” Ador, a native of Borongan City bested over 160 competitors nationwide after clinching the Kimsoy Grand Prize of Php 100,000 in the National Watercolor Competition in Cebu City.

His watercolor art named “Bugsay”—a fisherman with a paddle on his shoulder sealed his victory.

“I am overwhelmed to be one of the national artists,” Ador told the Philippine News Agency.

The ten-day Kimsoy Award and Exhibits showcases works of some of the country’s best watercolorists and is held in honor of Kimsoy Yap, Cebu’s master artist of the craft.

Over 90 watercolor paintings will be exhibited until January 20 at Seaside City Mountain Wing Atrium, Cebu.
