In accordance with RA 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act, LGUs will soon be receiving social amelioration cards from the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the distribution of cash assistance to affected families due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The cards, according to DSWD, will be the basis of LGU’s list of beneficiaries of the financial aid amounting to P5,000 to P8,000.
These will be distributed to the vulnerable sectors such as persons with disabilities, senior citizens, pregnant mothers, homeless persons and workers in informal sectors, the department added. The head of the household should fill out important details such as the number of individuals in the household, occupation and average income.
“Itong social amelioration card will be the basis of the government in providing the necessary assistance,” Dumlao said. She added that beneficiaries should present valid ID’s or proof of status.
The distribution of cash cards to LGUs will be the first step for the financial aid distribution, and they have yet to announce the deadline of the submission and the distribution of cash aid, Dumlao said.
