Korean, Russian and Filipino prostituted women are being ordered online like foods in restaurants, Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed on a hearing Tuesday.
Hontiveros, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee in Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality said that “clients” who were mostly Chinese, Japanese, Korea and American nationals are being added to a Chinese groupchats for sexual services.
Prostituted women are being labelled in the group chat as “tea”, a Chinese sex industry term for prostitutes.
“May menu, may presyo, then darating na lang sa hotel o condo mo,” Hontiveros added.
(Translation: There is a menu and prizes then it will be delivered to the hotel room or condo units.)
“Clients” pay P10,000 to P45,000 in exchange of sexual services and packages. The packages will be consumed for an hour, half an hour or whole night. Fastfood-like “sex order” is also being offered to Russian clients where one package expires after 40 minutes.
Hontiveros then urged the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Philippine National Police (PNP) to initiate shutdown of Chinese prostitution dens.
She is currently reviewing implications for the shutdown of POGO industries.
“Kailangan na nating umaksyon. They [POGO operations] bring in crimes and they hurt our girls,” Hontiveros stated.
(Translation:We need to act. They bring in crimes and they hurt our girls.)
