Forty Overseas Filipino Workers are ready to be repatriated amid virus scare, according to Senator Bong Go but the government is still waiting for the lifting of lock down on Wuhan City, the city where the nCov virus originated.

Go said that the government is in close coordination with the Philippine consulate of Shanghai and possibly start the repatriation by next week.

“Ready po ang ating gobyerno, ang military aircraft or private aircraft ay handa pong mag sundo sa mga kababayan natin na andun at sisiguraduhin natin na pagdating dito ay i-quarantine sila for 14 days,” he said.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III however said that it is best for Filipinos living in Wuhan to stay there for the meantime instead of returning to the Philippines to avoid discrimination from relatives.

After the imposition of travel ban for Wuhan, Hubei province, the President is still thinking about putting in place a travel ban for other places that are affected by the virus.
