OVP raises P50.9M for drive to help frontliners

The Office of the Vice President boosted its efforts to help the COVID-19 frontliners as donations through its office and the Kaya Natin Movement raised more than P50.9 million, said Vice President Leni Robredo, Sunday.


The amount will be used to purchase 116,200 PPE sets for 15 day use of some 7,750 frontliners and 13,241 food packages for other frontliners.


Robredo said that as of April 11, the OVP has already distributed 69,075 PPE sets to 327 hospitals and communities in the country.

“May mga parating rin pong tulong sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa, kabilang na ang Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, at iba pang mga probinsya sa Luzon at Visayas,” Robredo said.


As of April 13, the Department of Health said there are 4,932 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country, with the death toll reaching 315.
