Detained senator Leila De Lima's list that was directed to United States Embassy should include her as one of human rights violators, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Monday.

Panelo also stressed that De Lima's list is inaccurate if her name wasn't included. He pointed out that she [De Lima] is also a human rights violator because that's the same reason why she is now behind bars.

De Lima was detained last February 2017 after she was accused of being the "mastermind" for the proliferation of drugs in the New Bilibid Prison to finance his senatorial campaign in 2016.

US officials including State Secretary Mike Pompeo saw the arrest as a human rights violation and a "wrongful imprisonment".

President Donald Trump then passed a provision to ban Philippine officials who were involved in the arrest of De Lima from entering US.

This led to the cancellation of visa of Senator Ronald Dela Rosa which ultimately resulted to the termination of the Visiting Forces Agreement between US and Philippines.

Filipino officials who are human rights violators were included in the list of De Lima which will be the basis to ban said officials from entering US.
